CD review: Grand Defense

Say Anything made a name for themselves with their debut two-disc album "Is a Real Boy" in 2006.  On Oct. 23, 2007, the band released its much anticipated sophomore album on J Records (Sony BMG Music Group) "In Defense of the Genre."

SoMar Dance Works celebrates its tenth season with a new program titled “A Desperate Cry for ATTENTION.” As the title promises, the program will explore the various ways people go about getting noticed through two Erie premiers and nine world premiers.

Former director of playhouse to hold auditions

David Matthews, the pre-eminent expert on American Musical Theatre in Northwestern Pa., will hold auditions at the beginning of spring term for the Mercyhurst College production of the brilliant play "A Streetcar named Desire."

 

Stillframe Sky, local band releases new CD

The Edinboro Hangout was full of fans of Stillframe Sky, a local rock band, on Saturday night.  The event was to support the release of the band’s new CD.

MET Live: 'Peter Grimes'

"The Metropolitan Opera: Live in High Definition" continues its unique and astonishing display of breathtaking operas and groundbreaking performances. The next showing to grace the PAC as a part of this exciting experiment will be "Peter Grimes."

Students premiere 'Raw Edges'

"Raw Edges X" will premiere student choreography works from the Mercyhurst College Dance Department this Saturday and Sunday at the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center.
