Opinion: Letters to the editor Stand up for newspaper rights
By Ethan Hulsey Contributing writer Great work getting to the bottom of the advertising laws. While I’m hardly a supporter of Sen. Obama, I’m a former student newspaper editor and an advocate for freedom of speech in the student newspaper. It’s refreshing and reassuring to know that we have students on this campus who will stick to their guns even when administration (of which I am a part) threatens. Even though I am now an extension of the athletic department’s public relations, I hope I never forget that student newspapers are a safe haven for free speech. Continue to exercise good judgment and stand up for your rights as a newspaper.
