The preliminary hearing for Allen Francis Peters, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been delayed until Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 3:30 p.m.
Peters, a 49-year-old Erie man, was charged with 14 violations stemming from the Sept. 12, hit-and-run accident that sent Mercyhurst College women’s hockey coach Kristen Cameron to Hamot Medical Center.
Cameron was riding her bicycle near the 9000 block of Peach Street in Summit Township at approximately 7 p.m. that Sunday evening when a collision occurred between her bicycle and Peters’ 1979 Chevrolet Caprice.
The office of District Justice James J. Dwyer, 8900 Old French Road, confirmed the hearing date change Wednesday afternoon, citing a conflict with Peters’ public defender’s schedule.
The hearing will take place at Dwyer’s office, which serves LeBoeuf Township, Mill Village Borough, Waterford Borough, Waterford Township and Summit Township, where the accident took place.
The 14 charges against the defendant range from aggravated assault while driving under the influence to driving without an inspection sticker. Peters suffered no injuries from the collision.
Cameron remains at Hamot in serious condition.
