Gregory Hendricks, 21, a criminal justice major at Mercyhurst University, was found dead in his off-campus apartment Thursday.

Hendricks was an Erie-native who went to high school at Cathedral Preparatory School.

The Erie County Coroner’s Office said the case does not appear suspicious, but that the investigation is continuing.

In a campus-wide email to students and employees, Mercyhurst University President Tom Gamble said, “On behalf of the entire Mercyhurst University community, I want to express my personal sadness and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mercyhurst University student Greg Hendricks. . . .Now and in the days ahead, let us all remember Greg and his family in our prayers.”
