For current information and updates on the Erie campus closure and evacuation, check your Mercyhurst email and the Mercyhurst website at http://www.mercyhurst.edu.
While many students thought this moment would never happen, Mercyhurst University is closing due to a water main break in Erie.
Today at 12:30 p.m. all classes and activities on the Erie campus are cancelled. Classes are expected to resume by Monday, Jan. 28.
For sanitation reasons, all students are to leave their on-campus residency by 8 p.m. tonight and return home through the weekend. Administration asks that if a friend or roommate cannot make it home, that you invite them to go home with you.
If you are unable to leave campus, contact Residence Life at reslife@mercyhurst.edu with your name and residence. If water loss also results in the loss of heat, contact ResLife or Police & Safety at (814) 824-2304 and alternative housing arrangements will be made.
Egan Dining Hall will remain open with a limited menu and portable toilets will be stationed around campus.
For updates, be sure to check your email and the Mercyhurst website.
