Study Abroad Fair held for 'Hurst students

With the introduction of Mercyhurst’s J-term system, there comes many more opportunities for students and faculty to study abroad and discover new and interesting courses while being immersed in another culture.

Mercyhurst is hosting a Study Abroad Fair on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event will be located in the Carolyn Herrmann Student Union Great Room.

Are you interested in getting involved, but have no idea where to start? The fair will feature various representatives from Athena, API, GlobaLinks and more. GlobaLinks alone has over 20 years of experience in assisting students with creating educational, worthwhile and exciting abroad experiences.

At 1 p.m., a Special Agent from the FBI will give a presentation on precautionary security measures that students should consider before and during their study abroad experience.

“We have some great representatives coming to discuss the opportunities students have for studying abroad,” said Mercyhurst’s Study Abroad Advisor, Veronica Liwak.

“Also, we are excited to have a Special Agent from the FBI come and answer any questions about safety and security for those students traveling overseas.”

Students who are planning to travel abroad are encouraged to attend. All students are welcome to take part in the fair. The Study Abroad Fair is will be 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Carolyn Herrmann Student Union Great Room on Thursday, Oct. 24.
