The Mercyhurst Laker’s basketball teams will host the first annual MAC Madness event on Friday, Nov. 1, at 9 p.m. The Lakers will celebrate the start of the 2013-14 season with a special occasion at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center

The teams will participate in a scrimmage and a dunk contest. Fans will be chosen from the crowd to participate in relay races, three-point shooting contests, knockout, and musical chairs. Mercyhurst will collect donations for Make-a-Wish at the event.

Some of the features at the end will be senior Jonathon Ouegnin and several other Lakers. Ouegnin’s dunk during a match up against Gannon gained national recognition and earned him a spot on ESPN’s SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays.
