Our Halloween Party: A Million $ Bash!

But a third, Barry Grossman (foreground), was smothered under.The ‘Hurst’s annual weekend celebration of Halloween was very successful again this year.

It kicked off with a special “Halloween Buffet” in the cafeteria.

SAGA outdid themselves and showed the type of quality meals they can prepare by serving Italian pasta, meatballs, roast beef (masterfully carved by Kent Koch), a Halloween cake, cookies and pumpkin pie.

Students remarked that the buffet was really great.

“It was really good,” said freshman Brian France. “The plates should have been bigger to hold all that food.”

Saturday night was also ‘mischief night’; and there were the annual shaving cream and water battles raging across campus

Security was out in force and damage kept to a minimum. There was only one incident when a window in Baldwin was broken by some over-zealous marauders from McAuley.

Sunday night’s costume dance was a real success. Monsters of all sizes and shapes attended.

McAuley Hall produced a 17-person “Campus Caterpillar.”

Judges for the costume contest were Barry Grossman, associate professor of political science, Jerry Trimble, dean of the college and vice president of academic services, and William Kennedy, director of student services.

All in all, the Halloween weekend was a great success.

Online registration successful

Even though there were a few problems with registration, it was successful overall.There has been a lot of talk the past few weeks concerning online registration. After the first group of registries, the main topic left to talk about concerning registration is its success.

According to statistics provided by Michele Hubert, 90.68% of traditional seniors that met with their advisors and were academically and financially eligible to register registered online.

Along with traditional students there were also 67.74% post bachelor degree students, and 73.13% adult students that registered online.

According to Registrars Michele Wheaton and Sister Patricia Whalen, they were both very impressed with these numbers.

Sister Patricia said that the online registering process was a long time in the making. Looking at the technical aspect of the process, Wheaton said that the system was able to handle the first night of registration. There was one minor glitch Sunday night when the network went down for approximately twenty minutes.
