President Tom Gamble, Ph.D., announced this morning at a press conference in the Walker Reading Room in the Hammermill Library that Mercyhurst College would be giving the City of Erie $100,000.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Mercyhurst has given money to the city to help it meet its fiscal needs.
“I am proud of the college’s relationship with the City of Erie. A strong Mercyhurst needs a strong Erie community, and that is what’s best for everyone,” Gamble said in announcing the gift.
Mayor Joe Sinnott was present to receive the gift and said the money will be used to further “our public safety services.”
“Through some of our hardest times, Mercyhurst has been there immediately, and I can’t thank you enough for your continued support,” Sinnott said.
