Financial Services begins direct deposit from paper checks

Students can now get their student loan refunds issued electronically by direct deposit into their personal checking or savings accounts. The change, instituted on Sept. 15, 2014, was made as a result of student feedback that requested an easier way to get their money back.

“It saves time”, says Renee Wright, Assistant Director of SFS. The decision to use direct deposit also supports Mercyhurst’s ongoing sustainability initiatives. It saves paper and envelopes, steering Mercyhurst to “go green”.

Every student has access to the direct deposit services. However, it is a separate system from the work study payroll. Any students with a U.S. bank account can sign up for direct deposit on WebAdvisor.
