A Mercyhurst University sign located near CVS Pharmacy on East 38th St. was severely damaged after being hit by a vehicle Friday, Jan. 22.

The incident occurred between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., according to Mercyhurst Police and Safety Lieutenant Paul Joslin. As of today, all parties involved in the incident are known.

Because the incident occurred on 38th Street, the investigation of the crash was the responsibility of the City of Erie, according to Joslin, who was emailed the city’s official report just recently.

According to Joslin, the driver of the vehicle is responsible for covering the cost of the damage caused to the sign.
