Students eat out in spite of the recession thanks to Resaurant.com

Sick of campus meals or scrounging for food all the time? Don’t want to spend all of your money eating out? There might be a solution.
Restaurant.com is a Web site where you can purchase discount gift certificates from participating area restaurants. This Web site includes select restaurants from all over the United States. Just type in your zip code in the search box and listings come up for local places to eat.
Featured Erie restaurants include Angelia’s Italian Restaurant, Latinos Mexican & Restaurant, Ricardo’s, O’Charlies and The Colony Pub & Grille.
Discount prices range from $4 for a $10 gift certificate to $10 for a $25 gift certificate. Some restaurants offer $100 gift certificates for $40.
Obtaining these certificates is easy. Select the gift certificates you would like to purchase, pay with credit card or Paypal, and print out the certificate. Even if you have not heard of some of the restaurants, the Web site gives a description of the type of food and the restaurant’s hours.
Feel left out of the loop on this deal? Don’t, you are not alone. Mercyhurst College freshmen Victoria Spada and Jeremy Dickey had not heard of this Web site, either.
“Now that I know about it, I’d definitely use it. It’s such a good deal,” Spada said.
Dickey said he agrees. “I would definitely go there, especially for cheap Christmas presents,” he said.
This Web site is a good way to save money not only for Mercyhurst students, but for faculty as well.
