Pros: None

Cons: Bad graphics, frustrating game play, boring

1 out of 5 stars (I would give it 0 stars if I could)

The other day I played this game called Cube Field on Facebook. It has got to be one of the most mind-numbingly dull games I have ever played.

There is absolutely nothing good to say about this game other than it draws you in and sucks the life out of you as you try desperately to get the highest score you possibly can and you don’t realize that you have wasted so much time until it is too late.

Basically, you are a triangle that tries to avoid blocks as you try to fly through them. Think Star Wars, Millennium Falcon and Asteroids, but in a frustrating and pointless way. Other than that there is nothing – just a white background. The graphics look like they are from the late nineties.

Also, here is the thing, when you fail you don’t just press a button that says “try again.” Instead, you have to go all the way back to the main menu, watch the game reload itself and listen to the same ads over and over again. Then you can play until you fail; which can take a really short time. Either way, it does not matter. You will have to start it all over again the same way as before in order to play again.

I would love to say something nice about this game, but I just can’t think of anything. The only thing I could say that sounds even close to a compliment is that it will draw you in and suck you dry. You will find yourself constantly saying, “OK, I want to beat my old high score. Just one more round and then I will quit.” Then you will fail, say the same thing again to yourself and play it again and again and again until you realize that it had taken all your social life for the day away from you.

If your computer occasionally lags, like mine does, that one little lag will mess up what you are doing completely, and you will very likely fail. The more you play, the more frustrated you will get and the more time you will waste playing this really lame excuse for entertainment.

In the end all I have to say is this: Don’t play Cube Field. It is boring. It is repetitive. It just plain straight-out, no doubt sucks.
